Step by Step: Character Design Process

The Character design process is an easy one to follow as I have tried and tested it myself one of the key steps is to find and gather photographs of what material the character is made out of what eyes and feet look like etc.

pinterestPinterest: Is a great way of gathering these photographs a very simple and easy way.

Well done!!! Next we need to look at what kind of character you would like to make, I recommend this book “Writing and Illustrating the Graphic Novel” it really helped me. There are some key points from the book and it would be good i you could do this with every character you make as it makes your character more believable and will help you draw it accurately.

What does your Character Do?

What Interests does your Character have?

Where does your Character live?

What is your Characters secret?

What does your Character want?

Do some sketching like the above find out whether you want it too look menacing and evil or too adorable to resist. I told you Character design wasn’t that hard this is where we revert back to pinterest for example if I wanted to make mine an “Egg Character” I need to know what an Egg looks like instead of guessing which is the sin of the Art world in Character Design always have a reference.

Ready for the Final Draft? Use different types of pencils for this I used a 3B, HB and 3H and then to stop it from disintegrating the paper weird I know, and to reduce smudging Get your hair out!!! And spray over the page. We are at the end now don’t forget to share and follow me on Twitter/Tumblr/Instagram: @ArtyAspie

To Love someone without Judgement

We are in a would where we love in order to get something to take something (love, affection, presents, favours even expertise) but have we ever loved someone unconditionally without judgement or prejudice without looking at them and expecting them to be in the image of you.

I like to think it exists but in order for this dream to become more of a reality thing have to change things in us I have to look at myself look at want I want from the people around me and ask myself whether I am giving this to them.

Love should be an easy act and extension of our heart our affection (not always romantic)  I hope this is where I will be…

Our Irreplaceable Body

We look at drawings like this and we see that maybe we don’t have the accuracy of a camera but we have heart and we put passion into what we draw, it took me 3 days to complete this drawing where as a camera could snap a photo in 3 seconds. So why you may ask is the point? I would like to explore this question a little bit more. The Human body is a complex machine that has thousands of difference processes going on at the same time which is topped by a an equally complex sorting center that we call the brain, so What is the difference between the our Body and the Robot. This scenario will show you the answer:

You are at the opticians as you look around you the peoples faces are blurred and as you strain to pick out the features in their faces you feel a terrible pain in your head , they sit you down and say I’m sorry we can’t fix it. Yet in a parallel universe the same thing happens but the result is different they say Good News! we can replace your eye with a Robotic Eye isn’t that great! It won’t look the same but that won’t matter it means you can see better.

Now if I am right the second option disgusts you whats more I am guessing that you are thinking “When will it stop soon they will start replacing everything we have with robotic replacements” It is this natural reaction I am counting on it is called “Body Perception” which means that you view your body as yours and utterly irreplaceable it is this that separates us from our robotic counterparts.

This is a very good question and one I endeavor to answer and I also aim to provide a reason for this and some insight into how it can be accomplished however you apply it in Singing, Performance or Art in General so LISTEN UP.

This is a big question and therefore be broken down into manageable parts.

Firstly ART this can be anything from Singing to painting what I wounder is the actual definition?

“the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”
So basically anything that is appreciated for beauty or emotional power is Art and Yes that includes me and you.

What is CHANGE?

“make or become different”

Change is impacting society around you sharing an idea or a philosophy and have it become contagious to cultures all around the world. Personally change to me is about changing even if it is just one perception of the individuals around me an extending that, I think no matter what it is that you do whatever your expression is it can create this.

The WORLD You might say well this is impossible! Think about the world in this way the World is a body once an infection takes hold and multiplies it becomes stronger and overpowers the body making the defenses and oppositions in the body weak. Ideas are like this whatever it is that you are trying to express to the World whatever message you are desperate to share can create change, if you believe in it strong enough there is no way that it can not influence the world around you. You know why? Because ideas are contagious as the great Sherlock Holmes said himself to paraphrase:

“Once an idea takes hold in there it is too strong to eradicate”

And he is right an idea is something that will be passed from generation to generation I mean look at the idea that Blue is for boys and Pink is for girls and in most of western society we still hold to this principle although we have long forgotten why it is so or what the origin of the idea was in the first place.

So you want to change the World with whatever art it is that you do then don’t just share an idea but let it become infectious let it be a voluntary thing where they believe in the idea so much that that they believe it originated from them and belongs to them.

The Sexism Virus

Please watch this I promise that you will not regret it.

Now that I have shared this with you please share it with someone else you know whether it is a girl or a guy it’s important that people know because they more something the more things like Rape, Assault and Cat Calling becomes an epidemic. The video speaks for itself but I just wanted to share a few words of my own experience. I am what you call Asexual and before you judge me no it has nothing to do with plants and no I am not Gay (although I was bullied for exactly the second reason) basically I experience no sexual attraction to cut it short. Anyway I started to notice that when I was 16 I began to mature I would hear comments like “Hey babe come over here…” my view was that this experience was normal quite a few times someone on the bus would move closer to me and I wouldn’t think anything of it. I also had the unfortunate experience of a stalker and I was so scared I came out of college I noticed that this guy behind me was following me but I didn’t know him he caught me up and said “Hey Babe can I have you number” I said no very firmly and carried on walking to the Bus stop he followed and asked me several more times my first thought was I might get assaulted and I was so scared, I repeatedly told him no and that I was not interested and finally he said I hope to see you later he said with a big smile as I got n the Bus. I have to say that it was such a terrifying experience as it was dark and there was nobody else around, when did it get to this where women were treated as property something to win or catch? Now I just wanted to say that I am not the type of girl to wear revealing items of clothing my wardrobe collection consists of Jogging Bottoms and Loose Jeans, I started to notice that people around me would look me up and down with horrible glare and would mutter among st themselves. You may think I have experienced that or maybe you have experienced worse or maybe you are a parent or a young child and stumbled across this I have news for you that you are not alone, if this kind of behavior is Normal then we live in a sick and dying world a world that doesn’t care and cruel world where we raise children to become monsters based on our own ignorance.

Bullying Behaviors

Hello reader you may have experienced this behavior or even seen it, Why does it happen? Many people have suggested many reasons why bullying happens including:

  • Pack mentality
  • Immaturity
  • Bullied Victims
  • Personality
  • Upbringing/Environment

What ever the reasons for bullying are, can it really be excused and why is it that the victim gets briefed, and told what to do and where to be. Personally I have had quite a lot of experience with bullying because of my color my Autism and my personality. If everyone does their bit to fight bullying including teachers, students and parents don’t say things like “It will get better”, “boys will be boys” and “children are like that”.  Hopefully one step at a time we will change our world.

Aspergers 101

Hi my name is Faith and I have Aspergers as many of you know a Blogger and a Youtuber but something has come to my attention since I was diagnosed about 2 months ago I realized that my family did not know what it mean’t, all of these things have been said to me I regret to say. There are some things that I want to clear up and please Retweet and Share to help Autism Awareness:

That Autistic people have no Emotions: This is crazy, first of all every human has emotions of some kind if only the basic emotions and secondly we feel emotions more intensely than everyone else (due to sensitivity) so we can choose to turn them off or not let them show. However I found that this usually comes to bite you on the butt in the end.

That Autism is a Mental Illness that needs to be cured: I find this the most offensive out of all of the insults because it attacks me and other people with Autism personally, so a mental illness is something (generally) that you develop and you do not develop Autism you are born with it. Secondly we don’t need to be cured however like everyone else we need help to soften the rough edges and to focus our strengths which is how so many other Autistic famous people are rolling in it (have a lot of money). When you are obsessed with your job it is half the battle.

People with Autism are just dramatizing:  Once again nobody would choose to be so sensitive to a sound that it physically hurts their ears, we don’t choose to have very few friends and we definitely do not choose to be misunderstood nobody does.
